Ingredients
Scale
- 1 slice sandwich bread (torn or cubed)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your fave)
- 1 tsp milk (optional)
- Butter or olive oil (for greasing)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions, halved cherry tomatoes, diced ham, spinach, or red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Grease a medium or large microwave-safe mug lightly with butter or oil spray.
- Tear or cube your slice of bread and place it into the mug.
- Crack the egg into the mug. Add a splash of milk (optional), shredded cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Gently mix with a fork, making sure some bread chunks stay whole.
- Microwave on HIGH for 60–90 seconds depending on your microwave wattage and mug size. Check at 60 seconds and add 10–15 seconds more if needed.
- Let rest for 30 seconds before eating. Top with green onions, hot sauce, or extra cheese if desired.
Notes
Use regular sandwich bread — even the slightly stale slice at the back of the bag works great. Don’t overmix or overcook to keep the texture soft and fluffy.
