Ingredients

  • 1 pack instant noodles (ramen, rice, or soba)
  • ¾ cup water or broth
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • Optional toppings: chili oil, scallions, grated cheese, kimchi, hoisin or sriracha, toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Break up instant noodles and place in a large microwave-safe mug.
  2. Add ¾ cup water or broth and microwave uncovered for 1½ minutes.
  3. Stir, then add egg if using, and microwave another 45–60 seconds.
  4. Drain excess water if needed.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and any desired chili flakes or sauces.
  6. Top with optional ingredients like scallions, sesame seeds, cheese, or kimchi.
  7. Microwave an additional 15 seconds if needed, stir, and serve hot.

Notes
